I had a great weekend, the weather was gorgeous and the company was lovely. Matt & I had a great time, even though Mother Nature had hit me – hard.
We visited the art museum on Saturday. The weather let up so there was no rain and the temperature was 80*! It’s been in the 40 & 50’s through March so that was a great surprise.
We walked the trail that lead to 440, we stood on the bridge and watched the cars come down the overpass. It was a beautiful day so the highway was busier than I’ve seen it in winter. We walked 3 miles, which made me a little sunburnt as I was wearing a tank top. Thank God it only lasts a day though because whew it was bad.
I think all of the sunshine put me in a good mood. When we got home I made homemade stuffed shells and the first batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies I’ve made in a very long time. Stuffed shells are my favorite and I enjoyed cooking too. I took a shower while they baked then got started on the garlic bread and cookie dough.
Our movie of choice was “The Notebook”, I got to pick. Matt had never seen it, so I thought he shouldn’t be the only person in the world not to. We finished dinner and the cookies and laid in bed and watched a few episodes of X-Files. I know that sounds really crazy out of all things that there is to be watched. He started watching it and after a few episodes I kind of liked their witty banter and different cases. I’m sure Matt was just glad he didn’t have to see yet another detective tv show from the ID Network.
Sunday we attended his church, This was my first time there. Everyone was nice and I like that it plays to all forms of religion not just one. I can practice Christianity and he Buddhism, there was no judgment from anyone. I have bad anxiety so even the thought of going into something I’ve never been to made my hands sweaty and my mind whirl. It was ok though, it was only about an hour too.
We were famished by the time we left the service. Cary is his old stomping grounds so he knew of an awesome place to eat. It’s called Crepes & Coffee, I instantly fell in love! They could give Starbucks a run for their money! I’m not really a raspberry liking person, Matt ordered a vanilla chia raspberry latte and I tried it oh my god it was absolutely amazing! I think the chai cut the sweetness of the raspberry and so I ordered one too. If you’d like to try it at any location that whips up lattes tell them you want “vanilla chia latte with raspberry, no foam, no whipped cream, kids temp”. You will not be disappointed!
There was some laying around too but it was a great weekend. What did you do this weekend?
